In 2019, the expansion of The Galleria’s Luxury Collection at Al Maryah Island transformed it into the UAE’s premier lifestyle destination. With contemporary styling deeply rooted in tradition, the space celebrates the rich culture and heritage of Abu Dhabi through stunning art installations created by both local and international artists. Among these is a specially commissioned collection of my artwork, which includes 38 original ink illustrations and 20 enhanced digital prints displayed throughout the public spaces. The artworks vary in sizes from 42x59.7cm up to 200x200cm.
This project was a journey through the breathtaking landscapes of Abu Dhabi. The first series of illustrations draws inspiration from the mystical desert terrains of the Emirate, showcasing the sweeping sand dunes of Liwa Oasis and the untouched expanse of the Empty Quarter, Rub’ al-Khali. These pieces capture a world free from modernity, where camels traverse the golden sands, and the warm hospitality of Bedouins offers timeless encounters. The honey-hued Al Wathba Fossil Dunes are also highlighted, their wind-sculpted formations standing as natural monuments often graced by circling falcons.
The second half of the collection shifts focus to the lush greenery and biodiversity of Abu Dhabi, exploring over 3,500 plant species native to the region. At the heart of these illustrations is the iconic Date Palm, a symbol deeply intertwined with local heritage. This series honors the Father of the Nation, Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, whose profound love for nature and commitment to conservation left an indelible mark on the Emirate’s landscape.
This collection is my tribute to the beauty and cultural richness of Abu Dhabi - a visual narrative that connects its timeless deserts to its flourishing greenery.
